WHO ARE YPA
Young performing arts is an independently run organisation that offers a learning programme and after school care in a safe, secure and enjoyable setting at an affordable and attractive fee for parents and guardians.
The performing arts after school club, has been running since June 2011. It is aimed at children between 5-11 years of age.
WHAT DO YOU DO
YPA runs from 3-6pm Monday to Friday and the children are collected by the staff from the local primary schools. The children are brought to the venue then settled down for homework assistance, during which the refreshments are prepared, and then the activites begin. The young people take part in drama, dance and music workshop classes. YPA provide facilitators who's goal it is to nurture and to develop the talents of the young people, providing a creative forum to express their individual abilities and brilliance as well as other general games, sports and other creative arts and crafts for example painting for the younger ones. YPA also have a trampoline, a full drum kit as well as other musical instruments.
OPEN AND CLOSE
The club closes at 6pm but there is a 30 minutes leeway period (at no extra charge) for parents/guardians to collect their children.
THE PRICE
The price for the service is £11 per day and can be paid monthly or weekly.
REFRESHMENTS
The refreshments range from pasta with cheese, toasted tuna and sweet corn sandwiches, pizza, waffles, beans and spaghetti on toast, jucie drinks and fresh fruit. However the menu is altered accordingly.
THE STAFF
Staff have been CRB checked, cleared, have many years of experience and are trained to provide workshops that engage young people in a dynamic and fun learning environment.
FUTURE PLANS
In the future the club will be establishing a Saturday school and breakfast club. There will also be an expansion of service to include a mixed martial arts and boxing programme for teenagers, which will establish discipline, self defence, fitness and healthy life style that is much needed in the current state of youth culture.
